Padauk lumber is a beautiful species that is reddish brown and darkens with age. The grains on the wood tend to be straight but can be interlocked as well. Padauk wood has excellent resistance to decay and is rated as very durable. The lumber is also reported to be resistant to termites and other types of insects. Padauk is also heavy, strong and stiff.
