Where are you located?

We are located off of Sands Road in Crystal Lake, IL! Our address is 6711 Sands Road, Unit D, Crystal Lake, IL 60014. When pulling in, we are in the back of the building, on the left side.

What can I expect coming into the shop?

At Barrington Hardwoods, we cut, plane, and sand all of our lumber down to dimensional pieces (as seen online). As such, we do have active machines running at (almost) all times. But don't let this confuse you, we are always welcoming walk-in customers! We offer both rough and dimensional lumber, and pretty much any lumber in the shop is for sale!

How does pricing work?

Everything at Barrington Hardwoods is priced based on board foot. Our pricing lists contain all of the species we carry, as well as the thicknesses we carry them in. You can find our S4S, Rough, Specialty and Thins pricing lists here.

How can I place a custom order?

It is very easy to place an order with us for specific dimensional lumber; All you need is your dimensions, species, and quantities, and we would be happy to help you out! Once we determine whether an order is possible, one of our associates will walk you through the process (including pricing, payment, lead time and specifications) and get this order going! (Please be advised that we have a $100 minimum on custom orders).

What species does Barrington Hardwoods carry?

As our name suggests, we carry numerous species of hardwoods, both exotic and domestic. We have standard domestics such as Maple, Cherry and Walnut, as well as exotics like Zebrawood, White Wenge, Purpleheart and Padauk. Stop in and take a look at the 20+ species we have to offer, and be on the lookout for new species as we update our inventory!

Do you offer any services?

Yes, we have the capabilities to mill, cut, sand and plane lumber to custom dimensions (with limitations)! We do also rent out our drum sander - we have a $25 Cash minimum (which covers about 10 minutes) and $3/min after that!
